In case you missed the announcement last week a new episode of Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian is releasing on June 28th. This behind the scenes series will focus in on the show’s third season, and a trailer was released for it, which you can watch below.

Fans of Phil Tippet will be happy, because he was called in to work on the third season, and many of his models were used to bring Mandalore to life in live-action.

Pedro Stumps for Bo-Katan

Variety sat down with Pedro Pascal and The Mandalorian Season 3 popped up, in particular how Lucasfilm and Disney have been leaning on Katee’s leading role in the Season for the awards circuit. Pedro doesn’t seem bothered by it at all, and supports Katee’s character of Bo-Katan becoming the new lead in The Mandalorian Season 3.

It was great in that it also comes into a full realisation of a beloved character that is from the world of Dave Filoni in you know, Bo-KatanDin Djarin is a creation that starts with combining the worlds of Star WarsJon Favreau and Dave Filoni introducing this character through the live-actionThe Mandalorian, and then creating the opportunities of pooling references and live-action characters from his, Dave Filoni’s, beloved animated series. Sure we, everyone, gets to kind of experience the excitement of the character [Bo-Katan] being introduced and she’s badass, and it’s perfect casting. I’m a big Battlestar Galactica fanboy, I own the DVD’s – I still can’t think of anything that has a better intro than Battlestar Galactica, just the thrill of that drum beat and showing you what’s going to happen, but throwing your scent off of what was going to happen in the episode. I remember Dave [Filoni] talking to me about the possibility of casting the voice actor in the Bo-Katan role, and I was like, ‘Katee Sackhoff? You gotta do it.’ And so anyway I think it was perfect that we get to meet and see the character, and she gets to do all this cool shit in the second season, and then take centre stage in the third and that’s what I would want for the character and as a fan of The Clone Wars.

For most fans seeing Bo take the lead was awesome in Season 3, but of course the Fandumb had other ideas. Either way, it’s cool that Pedro is so supportive, and based on how The Mandalorian’s latest season ended, fans should plan to see Din take center stage once again when Season 4 releases hopefully sometime before 2025.

Nick and I will talk more about Pedro’s interview on this week’s episode of the SWTS, so don’t forget to tune into the Star Wars Time Show on a weekly basis via our podcast platforms or via YouTube if you prefer the livestream angle.
