This isn’t official yet, although I think most of us that attended The Madalorian panel at Celebration figured it will be in due time, but according to Discussing Film, the first Disney+ live-action Star Wars series has already been green lit for a second season.

Apparently, Disney is so pleased with Jon Favreau’s work for their studios — he is the Jungle Book and Lion King guy after all — that the studio has approved Mandalorian for a second season with him remaining as the lead. Apparently, Dave Filoni will also be back in some capacity, either has co-showrunner, or a creative lead with possible additional director duties.

The rumored second season of The Madalorian will begin production during the Summer of 2020, and it will hit Disney+ during the Fall of 2021. Stay tuned for more details as they become available.
