Star Wars Resistance returned this week with one of those standalone plot type of episodes that have plagued this final season, and while it wasn’t bad on its own, its departure from the First Order plot thread is still frustrating.

There were three Easter eggs/Star Wars franchise references though, so feel free to find out what they were by checking out our breakdown video below.

Hey now fans of the Resistance, Matt Heywood here from the Star Wars Time Show to breakdown the Easter egg and Star Wars franchise references found in Star Wars Resistance: The Voxx Vortex 5000, aka, S2E9

There are thee items of note in total.

First up is an easy one to spot, and that’s because it’s hard to miss a Hutt on screen. That’s right, Frankie the Blue is our first egg for this episode, and I believe the first Hutt to be featured in Resistance. Frankie isn’t as vile as Jabba, or as dumb as Garballa, but he felt like a mix of the two.

Frankie also gave us our next moment of note with a reference to Canto Bight while talking about the lack of patrons at his own casino. Apparently rich people don’t go for Casinos in asteroid fields.

Our last item of note are the droid racers Frankie used to try and scam the Aces. Early on if you listened closely you could hear that they sounded just like Vulture Droids from the Clone Wars, which is then confirmed when one attacks Hypes ship.

They’re definitely modified versions of the Vulture droid ships, which is reinforced with the eye-like slits that got revealed when the ship first attacked Hype.

Let me know if I missed any eggs or references by leaving a comment below.
