According to Deadline, Squid Game star Lee Jung-Jae has been tapped to play the lead male character in The Acolyte series. He is the second new rumored cast member for the series after Deadline reported Jodie Turner-Smith has also joined the production, which only has one confirmed cast member in Amandla Stenberg.

Lee is rumored to be playing the lead Male character in the series, who many fans have speculated will be some sort of Sith-lite, or Dark Side fanboy. It has also been speculated that this character will entice Amandla’s character to dabble in the ways of the Sith and becoming the Acolyte. Maybe Lee is the Acolyte? Either way, it’s a solid casting.

The Acolyte is set to begin filming later this year, so hopefully it hits Disney+ sometime late in 2023.

Nick and I will talk more about this casting rumor on next week’s episode of the SWTS, so don’t forget to tune into the Star Wars Time Show on a weekly basis via our podcast platforms or via YouTube if you prefer the livestream angle.
