Rupert Friend was out promoting a Netflix project recently, but that didn’t stop Hey U Guys from asking him about his thoughts on the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, in which he plays the Grand Inquisitor. While Friend didn’t offer up any juicy details, he did drop some intriguing superlatives about what fans can expect from it.

He went as far as to say that Ewan does things with Kenobi that will be a dream for fans to witness, and that the series is one of the most thrilling additions to Star Wars canon. He even teased that fans will be treated to some wonderful cameos and Easter eggs galore!

You can read his full comment below:

“If it’s possible to be any more excited thank folks already are, I would be. I think it’s one of the most thrilling additions to the Star Wars canon, I think Ewan McGregor is doing things with that role that is a dream for fans of the original films… We can’t obviously have Alec Guinness back, but I just think Ewan was absolutely born to play that part.

But wonderful cameos from people I obviously can’t tell you, Easter eggs galore and… yeah, it’s a thrilling ride.”

Star Wars fans should definitely be down with what Rupert is selling. The cameos alone are exciting, let alone the notion that Kenobi could be one of the greatest bits of Star Wars ever created.

Nick and I will talk more about Rupert’s interview on next week’s episode of the SWTS, so don’t forget to tune into the Star Wars Time Show on a weekly basis via our podcast platforms or via YouTube if you prefer the livestream angle.
