The Obi Wan Kenobi series on Disney+ is now the new hot property when it comes to rumors and speculation in the Star Wars universe.
This weekend 2 rumors about prequel era characters popped up on the net, and based on the information given on Kenobi, it is very possible that these rumors could turn out to be a reality.
First up, we have a piece from MSW claiming that everyone’s favorite Gungan, Jar Jar Binks, will make his way into the Kenobi series via a run in with Kenobi. According to MSW, Binks will be rocking a beard at this point in his life and the two will have a sit down chat about the past. It seems like Kenobi hasn’t completely abandoned the poor creature who unknowingly handed over control of the Republic to the most evil person in the galaxy.
A separate rumor from We Got This Covered says that Samuel L. Jackson himself will also be returning as Mace Windu in the Kenobi series. As we all know, Mace was fried and thrown out of a window in Revenge of the Sith, so his role will likely come in the form of flashbacks or possibly visions/force communication. Jackson has stated his desire to play the Jedi Grandmaster again, even going as far as to get George Lucas himself to say that Mace could have survived the shocking fall he sustained in ROTS.
If both of these rumors turn out to be true, it opens the door for even more appearances for prequel era characters in the Kenobi series, but as with all rumors, take these with a grain of salt until there is some hard confirmation from either the actors themselves or Lucasfilm/Disney.
