The Star Wars rumor mill is churning again, and this time the subject is The Mandalorian’s title. Rumors first started swirling that season 3 of The Mandalorian would be the final season, but that hot garbage take was quickly cast aside when people remembered that Giancarlo Esposito, aka Moff Gideon, had already said that season 4 storylines involving his character were ready to go.
Now, the rumors are that the title of the show might change.
Something like this could happen, but it is definitely not something that studios or creators do often. Usually, a title change is looked at in a negative fashion because it can confuse casual viewers, but as seen with the recent change of ‘Roseanne’ to ‘The Conners’, it is not always a death nail to change a series name.
A choice like this for a series as wildly popular as The Mandalorian likely points to a serious shift in the story being told or the characters that are in the story. If Din were to become The Mandalore and the show continued to follow his story, then the slight change from The Mandalorian to The Mandalore would be justified.
