The mystery behind the Snake Eyes looking Marrok character seen in the Ahsoka trailers gets deeper this week thanks to a new official databank entry over on StarWars.com.
Marrok is now officially listed as a former Inquisitor that has become a mercenary for hire, and one that like Baylan and Shin, Morgan Elsbeth has hired for her plan to bring Thrawn back to the known galaxy.
Once an Inquisitor hunting Jedi for the Empire, the mysterious Marrok now works as a mercenary hired by Morgan Elsbeth to carry out dark deeds. Fully encased in battered battle armor, the warrior still carries a red double-bladed saber with a circular hilt.
You’ll notice that any mention of gender is left out of this description, so Barriss Offee being under the mask is still on the table. Making it clear that Marrok used to be an Inquisitor more or less takes evil Ezra off the table. Marrok really could just be a new character, but it’s hard to not want this mystery character to be someone fans know that also has ties to Ahsoka’s past.
