Based on a new report from Making Star Wars and a look at some official Obi-Wan Kenobi promo art, it appears the marketing machine for the Disney+ series is looking to ramp things up imminently.
New Obi-Wan Kenobi Footage Imminent
According to MSW, new footage for the Obi-Wan Kenobi series will be releasing soon, as in over the next few days. In fact, it should hit by this time next week of MSW’s sources are correct.
Apparently, the footage isn’t necessarily a trailer either, but it will be from official sources, and not leaked. Although, MSW does say in his report that what will be shown will confirm a few of the leaks he’s shared about the series over the past couple of months, so maybe it’s a featurette, or just a TV spot, but it doesn’t sound like what would be considered a traditional trailer.
Official Promo Art Spotted
In other Obi-Wan Kenobi news, a piece of promo art has been spotted in the wild. At this time it’s not clear where this art came from, but it looks like it is an end cap display of sorts at a retailer.
We first spotted it via All Things Kenobi on IG:
It’s a good looking piece of art that definitely has some Revenge of the Sith vibes, at least in terms of the color tones. It also shows the iconic duel that was teased by Lucasfilm when the project was officially announced.
With items like this popping up in the wild it’s only a matter of time before the world of pop culture gets deluged in Obi-Wan Kenobi marketing materials, and I’m all for it.
Nick and I will talk more about these Kenobi updates on next week’s episode of the SWTS, so don’t forget to tune into the Star Wars Time Show on a weekly basis via our podcast platforms or via YouTube if you prefer the livestream angle.
