Aladdin actor, Mena Massoud, is either trolling Star Wars fans with his latest IG post, or creatively embracing his new rumored role of live-action Ezra Bridger without breaking any NDAs he’s signed with Disney and Lucasfilm.
In his post, which you can see above, Mena captioned it with “Hey, just so you know, when I escape I won’t hurt any of you.” For fans of Ezra and Star Wars Rebels, this is a familiar quote from the Lothal born Jedi. It comes from the show’s second season after Ezra gets captured by a bunch of Stormtroopers:
It’s hard to think that Mena using the quote as a caption is purely coincidental, because it’s too obvious of a choice for his rumored role of live-action Ezra. To me, it borders on a full on confirmation of the rumor, so I’m surprised he’s been allowed to keep it up. Again, he could just be pulling an epic troll, or fan cast pitch, but it seems too on the nose not to confirm his casting.
Nick and I will talk more about Mena’s post on this week’s episode of the SWTS, so don’t forget to tune into the Star Wars Time Show on a weekly basis via our podcast platforms or via YouTube if you prefer the livestream angle.
