Kevin Smith is a mega-geek, and a Star Wars superfan, so it’s no surprise that after getting to visit J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: Episode IX set, he wept tears of joy. Smith told the GMA team this week about his visit, which sounds like a Star Wars fanboy’s dream come true.
Apparently while on set he heard some plot details, saw some of the biggest sets he’s even seen, and cried after witnessing a moving scene performance from one of the film’s stars. Of course he can’t share any meaty details, but his quotes alone are enough to get me hyped. There’s plenty to speculate on, but I will save that for the next episode of the Star Wars Time Show.
In between now and then though, you can check out the interview below, or read the best quotes that are embedded after it.

Kevin Smith quotes:
“Number one, J.J.’s doing the Lord’s work, man. This movie looks fantastic. It’s a year away, but man it looks fantastic. I wept on set because I saw somebody give a career-best performance. Somebody I’ve seen in these movies before. I rolled a tear, it was so darn powerful. Biggest set I’ve ever seen in my life. The dude’s not directing a movie, it’s like he’s directing a small country. The thing is so massive.”
