In speaking with EW, Jon Favreau, the showrunner for The Mandalorian, revealed that he plans to direct an episode or two for the show’s second season. The show hasn’t been confirmed to have a second season yet officially, but considering Jon has been on record talking about it, it’s a done deal.

Anyway, Jon told EW that he will indeed direct this time around, which he passed on during the show’s inaugural season because he was knee deep in The Lion King. Jon said:

“We’re working on season 2, writing, prepping with the directors and getting ready to direct myself, actually. I didn’t get a chance the last time around because I was doing Lion King. So I’ll step in for one of them.”

I’m all for Jon helming an episode or two. I think the guy’s a talent and a creative, and considering he came up with the idea for this show, I think he’ll be more than capable at directing an episode of it.

The Mandalorian hits Disney+ on November 12.
