Deadline is reporting that Jodie Turner-Smith has joined The Acolyte series from Lucasfilm, which is set to begin filming later this fall.

Jodie Turner-Smith made her debut in Queen and Slim, and was the titular character in the Anne Boleyn miniseries. Neither Lucasfilm nor Smith-Turner has officially confirmed this report.

Obviously, nothing is known about who Jodie may be playing in The Acolyte, which will be set about 100 years prior to the events of The Phantom Menace. Smith-Turner will be joining Amandla Stenberg, who so far is the only officially confirmed cast member for the Disney+ series.

If filming does kick off this fall, then the series should be hitting Disney+ late in 2023, or early 2024.

Nick and I will talk more about this casting rumor on next week’s episode of the SWTS, so don’t forget to tune into the Star Wars Time Show on a weekly basis via our podcast platforms or via YouTube if you prefer the livestream angle.
