Depending on the age of your closest Star Wars fan pal you may get conflicting information on the best order to watch the films in thanks to how George started with the middle of his tale before telling the beginnings. While those arguments are valid, this post isn’t aiming to settle that debate, rather this post will provide an outline for how to watch all of the canon-based Star Wars TV shows and films in chronological order. I’m talking Star Wars timeline order too, and not our own.
I will note that I’ve left out the Forces of Destiny cartoons because they’re shorts and scattered all throughout the timeline, but they are canon-based, so I do recommend watching them at some point to provide a few neat narratives (like how Leia got her Boush disguise) set during all three Skywalker Saga trilogies.
Star Wars Movies and TV Shows Chronological Watch Order
- The Phantom Menace
- Attack of the Clones
- The Clone Wars (Please note that The Clone Wars was not told in chronological order, so the list below reflects the official order as detailed over at StarWars.com. If you really want to get precise, Episode 710-712 take place concurrently with the opening half of Revenge of the Sith. In particular, 710 takes place during and after Kenobi killing Grievous, while 711 takes place during and after Anakin’s betrayal and Order 66, and 712 mostly takes place during and after Order 66 with an epilogue taking place after the events of Revenge of the Sith and the formation of the Empire.)
- Revenge of the Sith
- The Bad Batch (When it launches)
- Kenobi (When it launches)
