Apparently it’s an exclusive from Empire these days even though Tony Gilroy has many times stated that Andor Season 2’s final moments will walk Cassian right up to the moment before he leaves to meet Tivik on the Ring of Kafrene, but fair enough, because he’s told them again in person.
In talking with Empire, Tony once again laid out how Andor will end and reiterates that the final episodes will tell the events of the last three days before Rogue One’s timeline of happenings. He specifically stated they’ll cover:
“the last three days before Rogue One”.

Which to me isn’t any different than this quote from last year, but I guess now it’s newsworthy and an exclusive?
The last one will be the last, I don’t know what it is, three, four days before the beginning of Rogue One, and then our final scene has always been known, which will be walking him into the first scene of Rogue One. So, we will be dealing with time in a different way, but it’ll be blocks of three. That’ll be our principle.

Although, Tony does drop a vintage Gilroy IS THE MAN quote in his Empire interview!
“Look, man, I’m not trying to make a career here; if anything I’m on the downhill side of a long career. But this is an opportunity. This is 1,500 pages of the most dynamic material in these people’s lives to deal with. We got it right the first time, and you don’t want to let your foot off the gas.”

You have to love his confidence!
Nick and I will talk more about Tony’s interview on next week’s episode of the SWTS, so don’t forget to tune into the Star Wars Time Show on a weekly basis via our podcast platforms or via YouTube if you prefer the livestream angle.
