The creators of the upcoming Star Wars: The Rise of Kylo Ren comic series, writer Charles Soule and artist Will Sliney, offered up some insights into the comic’s star and the Knights of Ren. What stood out to me though was their thoughts on the Knights.

“You’ll learn an awful lot about the Knights of Ren very, very fast in this book,” Sliney teases.

“I think when that first page shows up in previews it’s going to land so hard,” adds Soule.

Those quotes are great to hear for those of us who want to learn more about the Knights, and are tired of waiting for answers.

Soule went on to describe how he wrote the Knights, which he based off of motorcycle gangs, Westerns, and Samurai. He also went on to talk about their powers and moral code:

“They can all use the Force, the dark side of the Force, to varying degrees. They’re not as powerful as a Jedi or a Sith, but they use it when they fight…. They have some sort of a code, like a motorcycle gang, but it’s not elaborate. They’re flexible. Mostly they’re just kind of out to live their lives the way they want to live them and take what the galaxy will give them and eat what the dark side sends.”

It’s good to get that confirmed in writing, and I hope we get to see their Force-lite powers in action in Rise of Skywalker. If you want to learn more about the comic, including Ben’s turn and other survivors of Ben’s temple raising, head over to the full article.
