While at a Con Carl Weathers dropped some news for his Greef Karga character and The Mandalorian Season 3.
The actor confirmed to the audience that The Mandalorian Season 3 will begin filming next month in September, and that his character Greef Karga will be back. Weathers also confirmed that he’s set to direct another episode of the show, just like he did for Season 2.
If filming is starting in September, then fans should still expect the show to hit Disney+ by the fall of 2022 at the latest. I would expect the filming to wrap by the end of 2021, and then post would take place for most of 2022 for a fall debut. I just don’t see Disney changing it’s flagship Star Wars show’s release window, so I’m expecting a release date in late October or early November for The Mandalorian Season 3.
Don’t forget that we are still getting Season 2.5 this year via The Book of Boba, so while the wait seems long, I do feel that series will scratch our Mando itches for the time being.
Nick and I will talk more about Carl’s interview on today’s episode of the SWTS, so don’t forget to tune into the Star Wars Time Show on a weekly basis via our podcast platforms or via YouTube if you prefer the livestream angle.
